45 Park Lane Presents Indüstria – Glamour and Graphic Imagination

Indüstria – Glamour and Graphic Imagination is 45 Park Lane’s first exhibition of 2026 and will run from February 5 to April 26, 2026, in the public spaces of the hotel.

Dorchester Collection’s 45 Park Lane is proud to present its first art exhibition of the year, celebrating the bold glamour and eccentricities of the 1980s and 1990s. Indüstria – Glamour and Graphic Imagination showcases the striking works of Los Angeles-born photographer Brad Branson and Dutch model-artist Fritz Kok. Curated by Ackerman Studios, the exhibition will open at 45 Park Lane on February 5, 2026, and will be on display throughout the hotel’s public areas until April 26, 2026.

Highlights of the exhibition will include portraits and collages featuring leading figures of the era, including Vivienne Westwood, Stephen Jones, Susie Cave, Linda Evangelista, Boy George, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Annie Lennox, Bryan Ferry and Iman. Many of the works are being shown together for the first time since their original presentation in the 1980s, offering a rare opportunity to reassess the duo’s contribution to the artistic period.

COLLABORATION AND INNOVATION

Branson’s photography is renowned for blending the drama and elegance of 1930s Hollywood with the vibrancy of 1980s Los Angeles nightlife. At the heart of the city’s cultural scene, his studio famously transformed into Power Tools, one of the hottest nightclubs frequented by actors, musicians, and artists after dark. Branson and Dutch artist Kok began collaborating under the name Indüstria after Branson saw some of Kok’s futuristic paintings. Together, they pioneered a new aesthetic, blending photography, graphic design and collage.

The pair brought Indüstria to Amsterdam and London, where their work was championed by experimental publications such as Manipulator Magazine and published in titles including Blitz and Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine. During this period, they met and collaborated with artists including Leigh Bowery and Boy George, as well as designers Vivienne Westwood and Stephen Jones.

Since Brad Branson’s death in 2012, a substantial body of his work was catalogued and preserved by his sister, Jan Lane. Following Jan’s passing, this work has been carefully continued by Jan’s husband, Scott Lane, ensuring the artist’s legacy and the integrity of the archive for this presentation.

ART IN MAYFAIR

45 Park Lane is renowned for its rolling art programme, which transforms the hotel’s public spaces with exhibitions that celebrate both emerging and established artists. Since 2017, the hotel has worked closely with curator Lily Ackerman, founder and director of Ackerman Studios, whose expertise has guided the selection and presentation of each exhibition. The longstanding connection reflects the hotel’s commitment to providing guests and visitors with an engaging artistic experience.

Lee Kelly, general manager at 45 Park Lane, says: “Indüstria – Glamour and Graphic Imagination celebrates two extraordinary visual voices who captured an era where glamour and underground creativity collided. We are delighted to welcome them into the public spaces of 45 Park Lane for guests to discover.”
