Most anime watchers agree that the best isekai hero goes to Rimuru Tempest from the anime ‘That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime’. Rimuru Tempest is a very well-written character and has a deep self-awareness towards his abilities and himself. One of the highlights of Rimuru Tempest’s specialties is that he didn’t stand out as much as other isekai heroes with their enchanting looks. Rimuru succeeded in helping his future subordinates and neighboring countries by talking to them and helping them with his capacity.

His ability to remember his past life and incorporate technology and systems into his kingdom makes him a smart character. Rimuru also didn’t act directly with violence and was willing to help others without a reward in hand. With his state of being a slime into a Demon Lord, Rimuru sure achieves many things along the way with his newfound kingdom.

These are some reasons why Rimuru Tempest deserves the title of ‘The Best Isekai Hero’ in the anime industry.

Truck-kun Is Not Involved

Rimuru was reincarnated from his modern world to the medieval world because of a stabbing accident, not because of Truck-kun which always involves the main character dying and reincarnating next. Truck-kun is a cliche term when the main character gets crushed by a truck and sent to the new world. While most reincarnated characters are always entangled with Truck-kun, Rimuru was stabbed by a robber when he initiated to help the victim. 

Incorporate Knowledge From His Previous World

While most reincarnated characters often forget their previous world and its uses, Rimuru remembers most of it and applies it all to his kingdom. He also made sure to store his knowledge deep inside for future use like building roads and incorporating Japanese culture and customs into his new home.  Rimuru also celebrates events and invites many kings, queens, and well-known figures to introduce them to his country’s culture. It makes them accept Rimuru’s country as their own and help one another by assisting each other in war later. He hopes people would appreciate the Japanese cuisine that he brought here from his homeland and interests influential characters to buy from Rimuru to expand his kingdom more. For example, Rimuru creates an onsen hot spring for his friends and his cutlery is also full of Japanese customs. 

Brings People Together With Different Species

Rimuru also brings people of different species together and makes peace between those who quarrel. He dislikes violence and tries to solve problems using tactics and emotions to bring his opponents out. Rimuru also helps sort out the conflict between other species by taking the situation out and putting them into an agreement as well. Rimuru hopes for a nice world like Japan as he wishes his kingdom to be safe all the time. He also accepts help from the demon, Diablo, to execute his plan and mission well.

Easygoing With A Friendly Nature, Yet Harsh When Needed

Rimuru likes to enjoy people’s companions and newfound friendships along the way, but Rimuru will not hesitate to hurt others if they hurt his friends first. There was an episode where Rimuru’s enemies kill the citizens of the country and Rimuru didn’t hesitate to kill all of them due to revenge. As Rimuru succeeds in reviving the citizens, Rimuru vows that he will kill all that opposes him. He may be a nice bubbly slime, but scary when being threatened more than once.

With many achievements that Rimuru completes like; creating a monster kingdom, making peace between the species, and building and including Japanese look-alike buildings for his citizens, Rimuru sure is capable of being a leader to his nation and one of the most clever characters in the isekai anime industry. Although most isekai characters focus on their magic skills and upgrading levels, Rimuru spends his time building his nation and guiding other nations to settle nicely in their place, his love for peace enlarges more and more afterward too.
